I have good news for those who are hearing how awesome the True Scrap event was!
I totally agree with the consensus that it was an amazing three days. I got to be there live through more than half of the event, and I loved it! I can’t wait to watch the videos of the classes I missed. I even plan to watch some of classes I did see for the second time.
The Good News
At the end of the event, Lain informed us that you can purchase the replay package of the keynote by Ali Edwards, the twelve classes, plus the virtual make-and-takes! Click here to purchase or to see more about it.
I am so glad I chose to participate in True Scrap. It was so fun and so inspiring!
Here is one of the layouts I shared in my class:

Journaling on photo reads:
You remind me of a Japanese video game character — with your upside-down half-moon eyes, your squirrely movements, and the high-pitched squeals and noises that bubble out of you when you’re being silly or cute or playful.
Your outfit today topped it all off.

My Class
In my class I gave an overview of how to design your story from the ground up. At the end I showed slides of the coming together of this scrapbook page in order to demonstrate how building a strong foundation with design principles will help you –
- Identify awesome ways to place your embellishments.
- Tell your story in a visual way.
- Communicate tone and feelings and ideas.
- Tell the viewer where to look and how to feel about placement of the items on your page.
Lain shared with us an email she got from the mother of one of our Paperclipping Members, Terri Torrez. Here’s what she said:
Lain,
You are the best. It was the most awesome event and I would do it again and again and again. I am looking forward to October with True Scrap II. I was so impressed with all the classes and the videos and the make and takes. The videos really made it professional.
After it was over each day, my daughter Terri Torrez skype scrapped together trying out some of the new things we learned. We talked about the classes and all the events of the day. It was just wonderful. All and all it was the best scrapbook retreat we have EVER attended.
Again thank you for your diligence and hard work.
