After hearing this piece of mail on this weeks episode (69) I wanted to add a comment. I also had Houzz pins removed, and to be honest it is the first time I had clicked through to see where those gorgeous rooms were coming from originally. I did appreciate the note and links from Pinterst. Once I spent some time on Houzz site I realized they had their own "idea book" system for their site and probably want people collecting images through their own system. I'll be interested in seeing where all of this goes in the future. Thanks for the discussion!

I am a new listener and while I haven't listened to this show yet, I am posting my comment here in hopes you'll see it. I just listened to episode 10: the drop shadow haters and I have to say, it has totally opened my eyes to a whole new world. I have been looking for journal spots and can't find anything big enough. While listening to May & Ali's comments about .png files I realized I could get some designer digitals and print my own. Revolutionary! I can't believe I just found you guys 2 weeks ago. Now I am obsessed with listening. I was just going to keep current and cherry pick from the back episodes, but then since some episodes reference past shows, I just decided to go back and listen from the beginning, every episode (I'm a librarian so I naturally like things in order). Anyway, I love, love, love your show. It has re-energized my scrapbooking and helped me re-discover my passion for this hobby.
And one more thing - I dabble in video editing for work and needed to figure something out in final cut express. Then I remembered izzyvideo and found a great tutorial for my "day job."
Thanks for all the excellent resources. I am so happy I discovered you guys.

Hi there... just a quick comment regarding your Pinterest copyright discussion. I personally love having things pinned from my site. I did, however, recently have three pins removed from my boards by Pinterest at the request of the site where they were found, which was houzz.com. They were images of kitchens and home offices and the process was pretty straightforward - apparently the site requested they be unpinned and I received a nice email from Pinterest explaining why they had disappeared from my boards. Just thought you might be interested in hearing what happens when a site does NOT want their images pinned.

I love the show as always. In response to thick cardstock, I love Papertrey Ink's cardstock it is 120 lb. weight. Though it only comes in 81/2 x 11 it is great for cards and as study backing for things on your scrapbook layouts. I love the stuff. Also let Izzy know I got an iphone 4 and I love it, I don't know how I lived without one. I use to have a blackberry and this is so much better.

I am constantly trying to make my photos better. I am obsessed with the sharpness and color of photos and even more obssessed with the concept of depth of field and trying ot perfect that technique, still trying.

BUT, with all of that said, I still like to pull out my Polaroid Instant camera. Photo quality is crappy but they are so much FUN and isn't that the most important thing? I'm taking my slr AND my Polaroid to my bday dinner party on Saturday and plan on capturing all the guests as they walk in. They'll be annoyed b/c they will have wanted to pose but then they'll laugh and be so into the fact that I even have one of these cameras and how much fun they are.

So the key here is, ohhhhhmmmmm, balance. Love love love the sharp, perfectly lit, perfectly posed photos. But I also love the funky candids that are a little blurry or show someone being silly in the moment. When you are in the moment you have no time to set the f stop or shutter speed. And that's when the real stories are told.

Another great show. If I ever come to Arizona, can you take me to see that cactus that has the creepy, wrap-you-up needles? LOL. Sounds fascinating!

Another great episode! I was really interested in your discussion of citations and Pinterest. I think Pinterest has actually made me a better noter of where my ideas come are coming from. Prior to using Pinterest I never had a good system that would allow me to see all my favorite pages in one place, note what I loved about the page, and keep a record of who specifically inspired an idea. I often use the caption section to note why specifically I was drawn to a page and also write who did the page for extra credit to the artist beyond the link back.

Thanks again for another great podcast - enjoyed by a Paperclipping Member!
