    bulleting my comments
*Izzy- love the keynote for motion scrapbooking. I want something like the harry potter newspaper. question though or thought for your article. How would you “display” that? People can look at a book or scanned pages on a dvd. how would you save and share these creations?

*I’m still shocked people say this isn’t real scrapbooking. anything that documents memories is scrapbooking to me.

*listening to an old podcast about “workflow” or “process” I find mine are opposite in dgitial from paper. Digital I start with product first. Paper I start with pictures then go pick out my paper. I guess it is because with paper you have to work with what you have printed and digital, I start with the story and then go find what images I want.

*my pick-of-the-week. http://www.moiraitools.com/ it scrapbooks for you. makes storyboards. you give it how big you want it and how many pictures and it makes a storyboard for you! it is a photoshop script. completely awesome if you like linear layouts!

Thank you for this show, it is a great resource, and I’ve learned so much. I had a question regarding backing up files. Early on In my digi effort, I had a hard drive crash. I use carbonite to back up online, but not all of the unzipped kit folders copied back. For a few specific designers, I lost whatever I didn’t keep a .zip file of. I contacted the shop, and they explained the coping problem was probably caused by something the designer built into their files to discourage piracy. I understand piracy is a problem, but I hate not being able to simply back up my files as they are (organized using my own method by shop and designer) instead of .zip files. Anybody else have this problem? Again, thanks so much for what you do! Love it love it love it!

I love this show. I learn so much and am inspired every week with something new to try or check out. I would also like to put in my two cents worth to encourage Izzy to move forward with his motion scrapbooking ideas. I would love to learn how to do some fun things with video. A few years ago when I was new to digital scrapbooking I made this video
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnLugH7E-x4
for my grandchildren using my limited scrapbooking skills. It was really fun but I know I have a lot to learn. Anyway go Izzy, go Izzy.

Hi, guys!! Loved the show this week, as always.

I have a question for the panel- do you calibrate your monitor, and, if so, what do you use (and are you happy with it)? I’m having a little trouble with my photos not looking quite right when they come back from the printer (or even if I use my home printer) when I thought they looked great on my monitor, and they look wildly different as far as white balance and contrast go across different monitors when I post them to my blog. I’m hoping to find a tool to help me get the issue settled.

Also, what color space do you normally work in? Adobe RGB? sRGB? I know there are special settings in both my DSLR and Photoshop to account for different color spaces, but is there one that’s better than the other for blogging and printing?

    Thank so much!!

I’m sorry you lost some of your files even after backing up! However, it is much more likely that your uploads to Carbonite were corrupt. And, in fact, it is even more likely that your zip files would be corrupt over time than the unzipped files would be. I have seen many occasions where someone has backed up only the zip files to later find out they could no longer unzip them. There is no technology that I know of that would allow designers to protect entire folders of files, let alone individual files. If there was, we’d sure all be using it as piracy is something that it very difficult to fight. I highly recommend keeping 2 backups of everything. One locally to external hard drive and one off site. And, if it were me, I’d be considering a different backup service.
