Hi Jana! I'm also a dual scrapper in the sense that I do both. It really just depends on the particular idea and sometimes certain stories really work well with the digital graphics. Then again it's also a personal preference. I think I also like digital scrapbooking a lot because I can create some myself, scan something in, duplicate it, etc… it's not necessarily so product based. Living in Europe, it's actually really expensive and sometimes really difficult to find the products that seem so common in the USA. I keep wondering who is the big company that supplies European scrapers? I guess that's another reason why digital scrapbooking is great…you can buy designs and get it instantly!

Hi Siri – I saw that you wrote about printing digi papers and I was wondering if you found that cost effective with all the inks used. I've also done it before, but I usually only do it when it's not a heavy graphic pattern…

  • Siri_F

No, its not very cost effective, but if I love something, and NEED it for a LO I´ll go for it. I also print just the size I need for a punch or a photo mat, so that I don´t get any scraps.

I see, thanks for your input!

When I first started digi scrapping, it was $12 to get ONE 12×12 layout printed. I printed my layouts 8×8 at home, it was cheaper! Now, it is so much less expensive to print with a professional printer, that is what I do. I'm sure we will talk about printing often (we do in the next episode a bit).

I also thought I would link you up to some printer reviews I did. I uploaded the same layout to a bunch of different printers and compared them: http://thedailydigi.com/layout-printing-reviews/

I did the same with photobooks: http://thedailydigi.com/12-different-photobook-

Your 'free' advertising and this new digi podcast worked…I found you! Thanks for teaming up with The Daily Digi and developing a show for digiscrappers and those who want to find out more. I would like some designer tips, specifically – how do they produce so many items so quickly? Like Tracy, I am a slow designer and it really frustrates me. Did I miss Production 101?

Love the new show. It will help bridge the gap in between Roundtable shows, It always makes me crazy waiting for a new one. This is a great addition. I am a paper scrapper but do a lot of Hybrid and also some 100% digital. So I guess that just makes me a “Scrapbooker”. I don't understand why we have to explain it. Why don't we all just say we are scrapbookers and then the add on is how we do it. I compare it to people driving, we don't say I'm a BMW driver. Your just a driver and your method of doing so is the kind of car you use. It seems like we all have the same passions and ideas we just use different tools to get it done. It would be like saying someone who uses glitter and paint is not a real scrapper they have to create traditional pages. Its just stupid sometimes. Who cares how you do it, just look at the creativity that comes out and if you like it then its all the same.

I went to my first crop a few months ago and they all looked at me like I was a martian or something. Because my current passion is altered books with lots of glue, glitter, paint, and messy ol' glimmer mists. I was having a blast, but the girls around me were measuring and following their layout guides. I thought their pages were beautiful and told them so but they would barely talk to me. It was a bit weird. I always viewed scrappers all the same but apparently some people don't.

I am excited to learn more about digi scrapping as it can help expand my ability to scrap when not at home. I can bring my laptop with me anywhere and do it rather than toting around tons of supplies. So I will be able to have some books that I can share digitally and send to family out of the area. I think it will be great. Thanks for bringing it to us.

I totally agree that Adobe is the most used. I personally have been Adobe loyal since 2008. But I have many friends who do not use it and as I talk about you guys all the time, I wanted to make sure that they could enjoy this show just as much as I do.

I had problems hearing this. Music was fine, but when the conversation started volume dropped significantly.
