Paperclipping Newsbreak Logo

Changing times means growing pains in the scrapbooking industry. Are we going back to a third trade show (AGAIN?) when two may be more than we can handle? I usually miss Paperclipping Newsbreak, but this week I caught it while I was doing laundry! And how interesting that I caught it and you guys talked about going digital and ordering “scrapbooks” from Shutterfly and other sites like it- this year will be my and my husband's fifth anniversary and I wanted to give him a book of every picture taken of us over the last five years. My original plan was to create a traditional scrapbook. But as time ran out and because I was afraid he would catch me making the book, I decided to upload my pictures to a site and create a digital book. I have to admit it was very easy and pretty quick. Another advantage was that I was not obsessing over which embellishment went where.
All of that being said, I think I will be a little sad that it was not a book that I myself created! Had I started much earlier in the year, it could have been done!

Anyway, interesting timing and interesting topic(s)!

I really enjoyed listening to this week's news break! I like having it on in the background while I blog surf. You two were talking about the new Cricut Gypsy and how Michael's has an exclusive contract with Provo Craft right now for early orders. It just so happened that I placed an order for the new Corner Chomper through HSN (love it, btw) and I was flipping through their September Program Guide, and low and behold they're doing the “world launch” of the Gypsy at midnight Eastern on Thursday, Sept. 24. I'm not a huge HSN shopper, so I thought it was interesting timing!
