Hi, again!
Before we talk about the next tutorial, I want to tell you what Jamie Leija is doing right now with the last one. She is a Paperclipping Member and she watched this week’s video tutorial, Task Batch Minibooking. She thought of an involved project she had been wanting to do, and decided the process I introduced in the episode would help her accomplish it. Check out the comment she left on the blog, plus her mid-progress report . . .

I’m making 2 copies of this, one for me and one for the friend who went with me. This is a fabulous concept and the perfect tutorial for what I had already set out to accomplish this week!!

Congratulations, Jamie!
It’s so exciting for me to see how the methods and concepts in the video tutorials are helping scrapbookers to share their stories! I’m still amazed by how quickly I was able to make the two mini-books I shared in the episode, especially when one of them is such a long book.
And I hope you don’t mind me sharing this Twitter message from Avital of Creativity Prompts, regarding this same episode:
“If you’re not a Paperclipping member already, this episode alone is a good enough reason to join.” –Avital Gertner Samet
Thank you,Taly!
Each and every Paperclipping tutorial is the type of content I wished I had received from the in-person classes and workshops I tried taking a number of years back. Those classes varied in price, but individually, they were in the price range of a Paperclipping Membership. Right now a membership will give you access to 150 episodes plus two more each month!
That is a lot of “class” for the price of one! Please check out the Membership Information Page if you are not yet a member, and you are interested in the Paperclipping Video Tutorials.
Help Me Choose The Next Episode
Not long ago, I asked you to tell me episode topics you would love to see. I counted up the similar requests, along with the suggestions that got a thumbs-up by others, and found the most popular topics. Below are four topics I’ve put together based on those requests. Please leave a comment and tell me which one you’re most interested in. The winning topic will become the next tutorial! Here are the choices:
- One product – multiple ways and styles. Use the same product on a number of different layouts and projects in different ways and with different styles to convey different stories, meanings, moods. This will demonstrate how you can get different results from one product.
- Compare the different inks on the market. What are the differences and when would you choose each: Archival, Distress, Alcohol, Staz-on, watermark, etc.
- Design Principle: Use contrast to Layer Items. I’ve done a lot of episodes on layering embellishments. This one will concentrate on the specific principle of using contrast, and will show both traditional and digital examples.
- Mini Scrap Clusters. Fill empty spaces with clusters of leftover scraps of papers, ribbons, etc.
I’m excited to record the episode that gets the most votes! Please cast yours by telling me in the comments!
