Paperclipping Updates

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Yes, we do have a video podcast that is just about ready for release. It is a free episode available to everyone–and it’s a good one. We hope to post it tonight, so be sure to come back.

Don’t forget Paperclipping Live tomorrow night (Tuesday) at 6:30pm PST. I will be taking calls through Skype, so be sure to register at skype.com (it’s free) if you’ve had a question you wanted me to answer or have something cool to share with the Paperclipping audience. Calls may be video or audio. Contact me during the live show with my skype username, “noellhyman.”

I will also cover the front of the board book we worked on last week.

I have a backlog of emails with questions I have not answered. I’ll look through those today and will answer them either tomorrow night during Paperclipping Live, or in a blog posting later this week. If you have been waiting for a response from me, be sure to attend tomorrow night’s event or watch the recording later, just in case.

Announcements!

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Today was all about the yellow paint on my walls. Such a happy color. Tomorrow will be all about the red shelving unit! I can’t wait!

Tomorrow is all about something else, too. We’re trying something new for Paperclipping Live tomorrow night: I’m going to take a couple of calls to answer questions.

I’m having trouble keeping up with emails and questions, so if I haven’t gotten back to you on something you asked me, Tuesday night will be a great time to ask me again! I’ll let you know during the show when we’ll start the calls.

You need to have Skype to call in, so if you don’t already have a skype account, you can get one for free at www.skype.com.

I should be able to take both video and audio calls. If you have a video camera on your computer, please us it. My skype username is noellhyman. That is all you need to be able to call me from your computer.

Remember it’s tomorrow night (Tuesday) 6:30pm PST.

If you’re unsure of the time difference, look for your city on this website and then compare it to my city, which is Phoenix.

Paperclipping Live

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

I was so enthralled with the page I was putting together last week that I forgot to give out a free download to my Schoolwork Scrapbook tutorial. Looks like I need to give out two free ones this evening to make up for it.

Tonight I hope to finish the 4-page layout of my girlfriend and I being super (over-the-top?) silly. Come along as I talk through my process. It’s so helpful to see how someone else goes from a group of pictures to a completed layout.

Plus, you may be one of the winners tonight!

Paperclipping Live Announcements

Monday, March 10th, 2008

First the bad news…

Because Arizona does not change its clock twice a year like the rest of my insane country, there will be a schedule change for some of you. In Arizona, I will still be live at 6:30pm. But it will now be 6:30pm PST instead of MST.

In other words, I am now in the same time zone as the Californians, and three hours behind the New Yorkers. What does that mean for the rest of the world outside of the U.S.? I don’t know. I don’t think it changes for you. But it’s too confusing to wrap my head around, so just to be sure, check the time of your city on this website and compare it to the time of my city, which is Phoenix.

And no, I never raised my hand for that very strange twice-a-year time-change. I’d vote to remove it if someone would just put it on the ballot.

Now for the good news…

I will be handing out 5 prizes during the live show tomorrow night. Five of you will receive the Schoolwork Scrapbook Tutorial! Please let your friends know and make sure you join us for a fun chat where you can see the processes I go through as I put together a layout.

And for those of you who need some adult-entertainment (it’s always family-friendly at Paperclipping), I will be doing a page without children.

See you soon!

Paperclipping Live

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

We’re live tonight at 6:30pm MST (5:30pm PST).

At the end of last week’s session I began a new two-page layout with five photos. I chose the cardstock and photo positions. Tonight I hope to finish the page.

We’re live tonight at 6:30pm MST (5:30pm PST) and again tomorrow morning (Wednesday) at 9:30. Join us and chat by clicking here. I’ll be starting a layout with two very uninspiring photos. Let’s see if I can make an inspiring layout regardless.

If you’re unsure of the time difference, look for your city on this website and then compare it to my city, which is Phoenix.

Looking forward to clipping paper with you!

Paperclipping Live Schedule and Time Zones

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

I mentioned in last week’s live session that I may cancel the show for this coming Tuesday. We’re going to go ahead and keep it, so if you’ve been anticipating a fun scrap night with your computer and your Paperclipping friends, I’ll see you Tuesday night, 6:30pm MST.

For those of you who can’t make it at that time, I will be doing another one the next day, Wednesday Oct. 13, at 9:30am MST. I usually do it for one or one-and-a-half hours. I hope that time works for some of you.

If you don’t know what my time zone is compared to yours, you can figure it out using a world clock. First look for your city (or a major city near you) and then compare it to my city time, which is Phoenix.

We’re live tonight at 6:30pm MST! Join us and chat by clicking here.

Update: I think we partied a little too hard last night and broke the recording! I’m just kidding, but it was pretty wild with tons of people, wasn’t it? Thanks to all of you who were there! Something did go wrong with the video at the end, though, and it wouldn’t allow me to save the recording. I’ll get in touch with the UStream tech crew to see if there is any way to salvage the video or to avoid that happening again. I’m sorry to those of you who have already tried to watch the recording.

Someone has requested that I schedule a morning Live Show. I can’t do a regular weekly one right now, but I can schedule some here and there. The next morning show will be in Wednesday, February 13th at 9:30am MST (8:30am PST). I know that is far away, so I’ll post a reminder as we get closer.

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

We start at 6:30pm MST, although if it takes me a couple minutes to get the live-cam set up, please be patient. I’m working on it right now.

Update: If you missed the live chat you can watch it after-the-fact by clicking on this link. Hover your mouse over the photos until you find the date, 1-15-08 and then click on that photo to watch.

Paperclipping Live Tonight

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

I hope you’ll join me in scrapbooking during Paperclipping Live tonight at 6:30 pm MST (5:30 pm PST). I’ll be “fixing” a layout where I tried using a mask on patterned paper with the usual approach I take with cardstock. You’ll get to see why it didn’t work and what I’m going to do about it.

UPDATE: If you missed the live-cast and would like to watch it after-the-fact, click here to get to the page with all the recordings. I date them when I save them, so just look for today’s date to find today’s video. Please feel free to leave me feedback.
