Bits and Pieces In a Versatile Template

Need a fresh scrapbooking idea that’s on-trend but also simple and budget-friendly?

I want to share with you one of my favorite videos, which shows the process for some of my favorite layouts.

In the video I share a template for scrapbooking pages with small bits and pieces — whether they’re your leftover scraps or those cute little cut out pieces in your newest patterned papers.

You’ll be able to use this Flexible Template over and over for a totally fresh scrapbook page every time. Just take a look at the layouts below to see what I mean.

Shine On,

P.S.> This video is from the Paperclipping Library. Paperclipping Members get two videos every month in addition to more than 200 videos that currently make up the library.

Thanks Noell for the free video. I really enjoyed your process and your teaching on this and the pattern mixing Vid. I really want to become a member, but every time I think I can splash the cash, something comes up. But it’s on my to do list. I also enjoy the round table chats, when I get the time to listen. They are informative and fun, and have given me loads of inspiration. I don’t get as much time to scrap as I would like. I have 2 kids, 3 and 6. I homeschool the 6 yr old. How do you get the time to scrap and do paperclipping? Thanks for sharing your craft!

  • Yay, another homeschooling mom! Thank you for the kind words.

As far as getting the time to scrap and do Paperclipping — it’s not so much about getting the time as it is about making it. It helps that I have a table that is specifically for my scrapbooking because most of my pages are assembled in small chunks of time: 10 minutes I’ve found here, 5 minutes there, etc. Every couple of weeks I find a couple of hours where the family knows I’m going in my room to scrapbook and if they need something, they go to Izzy. Sometimes he even takes them out of the house for me. This is usually on a Sunday afternoon, but once in a while it might happen on a Friday while Trinity can do something for school on her own.
The other thing is we’re on a loose school schedule. So when I have urgent Paperclipping deadlines she takes the morning/day off of school, but she continues to school through much of the summer.

Thanks, Noell, for this template idea. I was stuck on a page in my daughter’s wedding album of a tea party bridal shower and I think this idea will work perfectly!

  • Awesome! Sounds like a fun page to do!!

Hi, Sue here from the UK, and I can’t tell you how happy I am to have ‘found’ you…I used to be a CM consultant here, and since they left us rather abruptly, life seems to have got in the way and I’ve done very little Scrapbooking. Your videos have got me excited all over again and I can’t wait to start. I’m just in the process of creating my own dedicated craft room, where I will be able to get everything out and leave it out so that I can come and go when time permits. Things have moved on a lot since I used to create my albums, and I’m going to have to learn all these new techniques….your videos will help me no end. Thank you from ‘over the pond’..Sue.

  • Well, I’m so glad you found us, too! Welcome to Paperclipping! :)

I’ve been buying 6×6 and 4×6 paper pads and after I use one or two sheets out of it I don’t know what to do with them. This is an AWESOME idea to use up scraps and some small paper packs. How light would your load be if you made up a few kits like this for crops. You have my mind racing!! Thanks.

    Hi Noell,
In the “Be Yourself” layout, I was wondering if the Winnie the Pooh quote you used was a printed copy, a stamp, or some other misc. ephemera?

  • Angella Turner

I’m new to scrapbooking but I am trying to learn as much as I possibly can to finally scrap these thousands of pictures I’ve collected over the years that are just rotting in boxes. We have started taking family vacations (mostly cruises, would like to see those scrapped in some of your videos one day) and I want to be creative when logging memories. I love all the techniques & cannot wait to try them out. Thanks for all of the free videos. Please keep them coming.

  • Thanks, Angella! The next free video we’ll be releasing will be a general tour of my scrap room. I hope to do that within the next month, but no promises. If you want more videos that deal more with techniques, I recommend checking out our membership. We have almost 250 videos now, and it doesn’t cost much at all. :)
