Are You Afraid to Make a Mistake?

One of my scrapbook mantras is:

Everything is fixable!

I believe you can fix anything, so there should be no fear of trying something new or taking a risk.

Chocolate Muffins

I baked some chocolate muffins and intended on cutting off the tops so I could put some vegan cream cheese filling between the tops and bottoms.

Vegan Cream Cheese Filling

But what do you do when your cupcakes spill over the sides, sink, and get stuck to the muffin tin?

Oops. Not good.

Scoop it out with a spoon and make trifle!

Messed Up Muffins Become Trifle-ish

(Or at least something similar to trifle!)

Like I said…

Everything is fixable!

Heh. I was working on a layout for a christmas gift in November. I’d just glued the picture down when my one cat jumped onto my desk and sneezed over the layout. The picture had been printed at home, and when I tried to wipe the dropplets off it, I smeared the ink…onto the layout’s white background! After mildly freaking out and chasing the cat away, I managed to peel the photo off the layout pretty easily. (Thank you repositionable tape.) I reprinted the photo and put it back on the layout. Then I placed some embellishments over the ink smear on the background. No one would have been the wiser, except that because I thought it was a funny story, I told everyone!

Oh no! I’ve heard lots of crazy cat stories but this one is new for me! :)

    Good job recovering!

I use to fix what I thought were mistakes on my layouts, but BPC thought me, STOP, no one else knows they’re mistakes. Now I leave them, even the typos or misspellings. It’s part of the character of the page now.

There are no mistakes, just opportunities to be more creative…

I leave a lot of that stuff too. On my N 38 layout from Monday I have black
smudges because I put my paper through the printer while it was still
slightly damp from glimmer mist. I could have redone the whole thing but
decided to leave it. I totally agree — it’s part of the character of the
    page!
