The drawing on this picture is hard to see. Here is a closeup below, although it’s only slightly clearer…
Love Notes
Love Notes
Journaling reads: You kids show us so many expressions of love and some of those take form in love letters and drawings, both to us and to each other. This is that story of how you kids take love and spread it around.
Love Notes
Journaing reads: A year or two ago Trinity started taping envelopes to their doors and walls to act as mailboxes so the kids could write and send notes to each other. (Note: these aren’t just for Valentines. They stay up all year long).
Love Notes
Journaling reads: Aiden’s “mailbox” on the hallway wall just next to the boy’s bedroom door.

Love Notes
Journaing reads: This is Blake sending drawings and notes to Trin over his DS. Trinity is sending notes back to him and they were supposed to be sleeping. It was a school night, but how could we stop them when Dad had just read Trin’s note to Blake, “I love you!”
Love Notes
While we were out for ice cream, Dad turned one of Trinity’s lip drawings into a hat.

I plan to add more to this book, starting with this page. I will also be adding read paper to the inside cover of the back, which you see here on the right.

  • Oh my, this is SUCH a sweet idea. I am definitely going to make this book at some point. And Noell, this has nothing to do with the book, but your hands are beautiful. You need to photograph them and journal about the significance of the work they do (both taskwise and in caring for your family). Oh, my hands look like farmer hands by comparison, lol.
  • Wow, Toni, I have never thought my hands are beautiful, thank you! In fact,
I've often thought my hands look dorky, lol. I must say I like my
fingernails totally unpainted--I don't even like a clear polish to be on
them (I love orange on my toenails, though). I think that I'm probably the
only person who regularly has her hands on the screen that doesn't wear any
kind of polish. And I've wondered if other people wonder why I don't wear it
since my hands are always in front of the camera. But that's how I like
    them. =) So, thanks, Toni!

This is great. Such a wonderful idea! I was showing my 9 year old daughter what I was looking at, and she thinks the envelopes on the door is a snazzy idea. Wonder what I'll find on her door tomorrow....?
  • Oh, that's awesome!
  • Peg
    Noell,
It is so heartwarming to see a couple siblings that can express their love for each other!
They are going to make great spouses and parents!
    Congratulations!
  • Well, thank you, Peg! I sure hope so! =)
  • Oh, this has to be one of my very favorites that I've seen you do so far. It's not just beautifully done, but it's an incredible idea. I love that scrapbooking for you is more than just about capturing family memories, it's also about bringing the family closer together and making memories. Love it!! Thanks for this one!

Noell, this is what it is all about, Family Love. How truly inspirational you are to us with your unique ideas for preserving our lives.
    Thanks for the memories.

great episode very fun ideas I too am coveting the red thread paper I bet you could come up with a way for us all to do it ourselves...hint hint
  • Uh oh...

    ;)
  • I love it.
  • love it!!! I remember seen something like this cover at ali's blog (I think) but never really tried it. I'll sure try this time! You gave even more dimension with the squares! Do you remember from which company is the red stiched paper at the inside of your front cover?
Oh! one last thing! Missed you! Glad to have you back! :-)
Thank you for another inspiring tutorial!
  • I was searching for art supplies at Michael's when I found that red stitched
paper--somebody had left it in the supply area. I went over to the scrap
area--I almost never buy paper at Michael's--and if I remember right, it was
Provo Craft. I haven't seen it anywhere else yet, and I really like it, so I
just might go back for me. I want to cover my back with it but I don't have
    enough left.
  • So cute, Noell! Love it!
  • Lovely mini!! TFS

I've saved the pic of the cover, great idea! I have tons of lace cardstock...

    I love Trinity's mail box idea :o)
  • Noell- can you tell us more about this book, did you use a bind it all? or was the cover a chipboard book you had? if you already had this cover, please tell me how it was to open the rings added the pages and close the rings, I always have trouble getting the rings back to the right shape.

I have lots of note and drawling too and I love this idea! Thanks!
