Major Changes!

Major Changes

The video is here.

Most of you know my husband, Izzy, the producer of Paperclipping and a few other tutorial podcasts. What you may not have known is that he has been producing our videos in the little time he has at nights and on the weekends when he is home from his full-time job. He usually leaves for his long commute between 5 and 6 am, before the kids wake up. And he gets home around 6:15 and gets right to work on video. We spend most of our weekends shooting and editing video.

On Friday, Izzy gave his two week notice so that he and I can put full-time effort into our shows. It is a risk, but we’re excited. We’re excited to be able to give our full effort to something we both love so much. We’re excited to see if we can make it work. We knew that we could not sustain the amount of work we were doing indefinitely without making a major change. So this is the change we’re making.

A Note To You From Izzy:

Because I need to maximize cash flow to help ease the transition
from my day job’s steady weekly paycheck — to zero guarantee, I’m
enclosing a coupon code for 20% off a Paperclipping Premium
Subscription. If you’re not currently a Premium Subscriber, you can
use this coupon code to get a nice discount. If you are already a
premium subscriber, then you have a couple options: You can use it
to get a discount off a renewal, or you can forward this information to a
friend with an interest in scrapbooking, and they’ll immediately have an
additional way in which they will benefit from knowing you. :-)

Here’s the coupon code for 20% off a Paperclipping Premium
Subscription:

Just a note to wish you success. I am aware of another family doing the same thing in the field of web design and graphic arts and their business is booming in the Reno, NV area. So on that one data point, I have nothing but positive signs.

    Noell,
Today, I was reading "Simple Abundance" by Sarah Ban Breathnach. The book has 366 essays, one for every day of the year. I decided to read ahead and on the page for September 24, it was titled "Do what you love and the money will follow".... it spoke of following your authentic path. It went on to say " when you do what you love, you get a new employer: Spirit. Spirit always pays us in direct proportion to how hard we work.. " There was more to the essay but it so reminded me of your new journey. I know how devoted you are to paperclipping and how excited you must be to take it to the next level. Best wishes as you and Izzy start this new chapter in your lives! Marcy :)
  • What a nice thought. Thank you for sharing.
  • So exciting! I know you'll have some very creative ideas & can't wait to see what's in store....

I sure wanted to see live show last night to cheer you on but I was watching a show on tv in bedroom since hubby watching something I didn't want to see & actually fell asleep at 8:30 pm eastern time.... AND slept all night - guess I needed it.
  • We missed you. I still need to put that recording onto the website.

I have a paperweight at home that reads: WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU KNEW YOU COULD NOT FAIL. I think this thought fits you guys perfectly. You have the know how and the excitement to do it...the rest is just doing it!!. Good Luck!!
  • charknox
Noell, you and Izzy are the most enthusiastic couple I know. How exciting that you two would throw caution to the wind and follow your dreams. It's perfect.
In the wise words of my dear sweet father-in-law, "Do what you love, but remember: you ain't gotta do it forever!"
  • Adriann
Congratulations on your new endeavor! I just subscribed today. What a great deal!!!
  • Thank you! Welcome to the club!
  • Congrats you guys.....
Izzy got bit by the entrepreneurial bug.....
So, this means we can hang out more on the weekends?

Hugs to you both and the kids!!!
  • Yes! After he's had his first week at home, our weekends will be much more free! =)
  • Maria
Congratulations on taking the entrepreneurial plunge! I think you guys make a great team--technical know-how and creative ideas. I'm looking forward to buying subscriptions for some friends.
  • Thank you! =)
  • Fantastic news. I'm excited for you both, especially Izzy.
  • What great news!! I am excited for your new venture and am sure it will be a huge success. Good luck and *high five* to you guys...
  • I've just read Amy's post, it's a great idea!!!!
  • Christine
Wow!!! The best of luck to your family on this grand adventure!!!!!
Your enthusiasm is so great to see! It takes a lot of courage to follow your dream, and I think you guys are definitely up for the challenge!!!!
    All the best! Christine (sunny1016)
  • Thank you! =)

So far there has been a great response, so we are excited that we're getting a nice, strong start!
  • I've just renewed my subscription for a year :D Love your videos and don't want to miss any of them.

    Congrats!!!

I hope I can do something like that in the future; if scrapbooking continues growing here, in Spain, I'd love to have my little LSS in the future... dreaming is free :-)

    Thanks!!!
  • Wow, sounds great! Are there any LSS's there yet?
  • In my city, Valencia, there's one. I think there're a few other around Spain, maybe 4-5 plus some other stores with some scrapbooking stuff and a woman who sells monthly kits. It still is a small business here but it's growing :)
I still buy almost everything online from the USA.
  • Amy
SOOOOOO Excited for you!!!! and I have a question and possibly a way some of us can help. I would like to buy someone a gift subscription and have it sent to their e-mail or something like that any thoughts on how to do this. Its my sister in law and I think she would love the premium! Maybe others can think of a person in their life they would like to bond with over paperclipping and help you guys out as well. (hint hint everybody) I know in my heart this will be a huge success Hugs Amy
  • Hi, Amy, what a good idea! =) I'm sorry it took me so long to respond. I had a deadline to meet and then my computer was giving me problem yesterday (actually, it still is--I'm on Izzy's computer right now).

YES, we can work it out to have a subscription sent to your sister-in-law's email. You can purchase it with her name and email (give her a username and password and she can change it later if she wants). Before you do that, though, if you'd like us to send her an email about your gift, why don't you email me and give me her info (name, email, the password you chose for her) plus a note from you? We'll email her a gift announcement first and tell her to watch for her subscription.
