Great blog! I just started scrapbooking a week ago and loved it, but it took up too much space in my art studio. So I guess I'll try the card-table-in-the-bedroom thing, which is where I started painting 35 years ago. I also made my first digital scrapbook yesterday. That was easy and fun, too. Both projects are on my blog nitaleland.blogspot.com and I just added your blog to my Bloglines blogreader.

First, cool blog!
I don't know if there's such a thing as a perfect scrap space. I'm lucky to have my own small scraproom, that also serves as a guest bedroom once a week. It's great to have all my supplies and LOs laying out on the table, and when I close the door, little hands can't get to it. Yet, that room also restricts my scrapping time only for late nights or ds' nap times. I wish that instead of building a fancy dining/living room with "hands-off" type of furniture we had used it for my and dh's offices/scraproom. That way I could sneak some scrappin time as ds was playing in the adjoining family room, watching Baby Einstein. I would just have to be more careful about cleaning up, since those little hands can reach further into the center of the table.

I have a set-up similar to what you suggest. Moving my sofa over a couple feet makes a nook just big enough for a card table. I've really enjoyed having my layout in the open for brainstorming as I walk around my apt.

I like the impermanent spot for its flexibility. Depending on my space needs I can spread out and take over the adjacent walkway, put my tools away and have just some pictures out, or entirely fold up to make room for company, wrapping presents, or whatever I need at the time. Its great!

Love your tips - the thing is - I have my own scrap table now and it made me getting lazy - shome on me :( I tend to leave it untidy more often when the times I had to put everything away - bad me ;-)
